Summary: The Resource Coordinator provides referral treatment planning for foster and adoptive children placed in a family or group setting to maximize the social functioning, safety, wellbeing and permanency of the client. At all times, the resource coordinator should perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and core values of OmniVisions and comply with all OmniVisions policies and procedures, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA, federal, local and state regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs administrative duties including, but not limited to updating client case files, foster/treatment parent files, information technology, etc. Provides information and referrals to community, private, state and federal agencies based on assessment of individual client needs. Reviews referral information with foster/treatment parents and respite parents to identify strengths and needs. Maintain a standard case load and act as liaison for child and/or foster/treatment parents in court proceedings and/or educational system. Acts as advocate on behalf of child and family. Recommend services for families based on assessment of family strengths and needs; provide crisis intervention as necessary. Provide support, consultation and training to clients and foster/treatment parents including transportation, coordinate and provide input regarding the activities of resource personnel including mentors, therapists, tutors, etc. to assist the child with established evidence based treatment strategies. Responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements. Assist in the education and training for perspective foster/treatment parents and adoptive families. Participates in child/family team meetings and function as the leader of the childs treatment team. Ensure services are provided in the frequency, intensity and duration needed to facilitate timely permanency for each client. Other duties as assigned. From time to time there are opportunities for the Resource Coordinator to participate in social or recreational activities with foster children and foster parents outside of normal working hours such as attending birthday parties, religious services, and sporting events. Omni Visions does not require, encourage, or request the Resource Coordinator to participate in such social or recreational activities, which are not part of the Resource Coordinators job responsibilities. The Resource Coordinators decision to participate in any such social or recreational activities is elective and purely voluntary, and not considered compensable working time. Qualifications:Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in social services, child development, psychology or related field. A minimum of two years of experience as a social worker in a group home setting with developmentally, intellectually and/or physically disabled individuals or special needs children or an advance degree in social work is required. Previous experience with therapeutic foster care regulations preferred. Strong organizational and decision making skills and computer/keyboard skills required. Must be able to communicate the English language verbally and in writing; select bilingual skills preferred in areas where there is a need to communicate with bilingual population. Key Success Indicators (KSIs) include: Compliance with state rules and regulations regarding therapeutic foster care programs Ability to effectively deal with child development, developmental disabilities and family dynamics Appropriate use of behavior management and intervention techniques Ability to leverage community resources to assist foster children with developmental objectives and life plans Ability to effectively apply knowledge on legal documents and judicial proceedings for placement and custody of foster children Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid drivers license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Verified state license in Clinical Social Work if required by state regulations. Incumbents in North Carolina are required to have a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) designation to sign off on clinical notes and observations.
