We are searching for the best talent for Operations Manager! This is an onsite position, located in Athens, Georgia.
The Operations Manager is responsible for manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (IM) and raw material components for Johnson & Johnson MedTech, meeting the needs of our customers and patients worldwide. The leader in this role will sustain an impactful organization through steadfast focus on safety, product quality, plant productivity, teamwork and employee engagement. This position will report to the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine General Manager, Athens.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure training for individual and team development
Encourage employee empowerment
Maintain operating procedures and systems and be directly responsible for maintaining production within established budget, compliance, and quality standards
Establish and implement annual objectives consistent with the business plan
Maintain a program for data collection and analysis to provide surveillance for management systems compliance and as a base for process and cost improvements
Fully support the programs and goals related to plant safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs to provide a safe and healthy workplace
Ensure compliance with all voluntary, regulatory, and statutory management systems: OSHA (PSM and VPP), EPA/EPD (RMP and ISO14001), FDA (cGMP’s and Q7A), and DEA. Follows all company and site policies and procedures
Assumes day to day responsibility for production, the physical plant, and safety and welfare of the personnel within and serves as an employee advocate
Proactively identifies and investigates causes of process, process equipment, and operating procedures resulting in environmental or process safety incidents
Ensures coordination with the environmental department to maintain compliance with wastewater discharge permits, air pollution control permits, and maintains and operates the EMS in production areas
Follow all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it pertains to normal job duties
Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, etc.)
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience within a GMP or regulated environment, preferably pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry
Proven experience effectively leading, supervising, motivating, and/or developing teams or individuals (direct or indirect reports)
Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Preferred:
Experience in handling chemicals, with a consistent track record of safety and industrial hygiene
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and chemical processing principles
Experience, training, or certification in Lean/Continuous Improvement
OTHER:
Requires proficiency in English (to read, write, and understand) to effectively interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals
Must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of this job which include: frequently is required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
Requires ability to work onsite primarily during day shift hours and work alternate / extra hours depending on business needs or emergency basis
May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel
