    The Optum Advisory Services Master's Program, part of OptumInsight, is a tailored program for recent master graduates who are interested in progressing their management career in the Health Care and consulting industry. The multi-year program includes the following:

    • Rotational program focused on professional development, leadership, client and executive management in the health care ecosystem.
    • Rotational opportunities will be provided in the payer and provider businesses in specific geographies, with the ability to influence final placement post rotations and the ability telecommute long term.
    • Professional networking, executive exposure, and community outreach activities
    • A dedicated professional mentor to help guide and shape your career path
    • Opportunities to lead advisory teams in programs, projects, and areas of subject matter expertise
    • Exposure to the most complex problems in health care through internal and external client work

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the creation of sales pursuit materials and other business development activities (e.g. proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs).
    • Maintain work papers, project deliverables and other artifacts that can be recreated and leveraged as intellectual capital.
    • Collaborate with business and technology teams to define deliverables and develop solutions that are reusable across the organization.
    • Work with clients to design and/or develop new product offerings.
    • Support client implementations of products and/or services.
    • Perform project management duties including the creation of status reports, work plans, project budgets, resource plans and presentations for client leadership.
    • Identify and document business process re-engineering opportunities including current and future state process flows.
    • Define, develop and document business requirements to ensure clients' needs are captured and delivered.
    • Create written and oral communication artifacts that effectively summarize findings, support fact based recommendations and provides appropriate detail to substantiate conclusions.
    • Develop financial models and tools, including cost-benefit analysis, resource utilization models and performance reports.
    • Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analyzing, trending and presenting data and recommendations to management.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree obtained from an accredited college/university
    • Currently enrolled in a Graduate degree program (MBA, MHA or MPH preferred) and scheduled to finish by June 2020
    • Must be willing to work out of MN, DC or TN office locations during rotations.
    • 3+ years of professional full time experience
    • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
    • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time as part of the OptumInsight Advisory Team
    • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered) F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1+ years of leadership experience
    • Health care industry experience
    • Consulting industry experience
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Highly adept at handling ambiguity
    • Competence with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
