    Janssen R&D, LLC is recruiting for an Analytical Development Co-Op to help increase throughput in a GMP lab for the CE-SDS assay, located in Malvern, PA.

    Research & Development Co-op Overview:

    J&J R&D encompasses the development of advanced materials, process improvements, risk management and mechanical testing through the development process across all sectors including Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Consumer and Corporate/Enterprise. We offer a fast-paced cross-functional, technologically advanced, corporate environment, passionate about developing individual engineering and scientific skills. You will have the opportunity to learn about anatomy, disease states, deformities and the surgical procedure/products used to address these conditions.

    Life as an R &D Co-op:

    The R&D Co-op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. Each Co-op will be assigned to a single function with a specific project for the 6-month term.

    The typical Co-op term is from June 2024-December 2024.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • This project will incorporate technical development initiatives to screen throughput for downstream processing (DSP) chromatography steps using existing API molecules.
    • Technologies would be assessed using AKTA chromatography systems and compared to throughput and product quality data obtained from platform processes.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, and related majors are preferred.
    • Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree.
    • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
    • Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while executing results
    • Must be a self-starter works independently while contributing to the team goals
    • Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired

    Preferred:

    • Students with experience in laboratory methods, operating automated equipment, data analysis, experimental design and execution preferred.
