    Reimbursement Specialist II Job ID 2018-58925 Department Reimbursement Accounting Site Hackensack University Med Cntr Job Location US-NJ-Hackensack Position Type Full Time with Benefits Standard Hours Per Week 40 Shift Day Shift Hours 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Weekend Work Weekends as Needed On Call Work No On-Call Required Overview The Reimbursement Specialist II is responsible for preparation of Medicare, Champus and Chapter 160 cost reports, reimbursement compliance and research, reimbursement studies and other related financial analysis as needed. Responsibilities 1. Preparation of the Medicare, Chapter 160 and Champus cost reports for select hospitals. 2. Coordination and accumulation of information needed for the Home Health Agency and Home Office cost reports. 3. Coordination and accumulation of statistical data. 4. Coordination and accumulation of Interns & Residents schedules and all required personal data including preparation of the IRIS. 5. Coordination and support of the Wage Index submission to CMS including acting as the point person for the Wage Index audits. 6. Assistance in the completion of the NJ DSH and Occupational Mix Surveys as needed. 7. Coordinating any bad debt audits by effectively working with Patient Accounting. 8. Research as needed via Internet, relevant publications, reimbursement manuals, etc. to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement strategies within regulations. 9. Support with select Medicare and Medicaid audits as needed including acting as the point person. 10. Review of audit adjustments including effective communication with outside auditors in resolving any issues as needed. 11. Software input of the cost report data as needed. 12. Performance of financial analysis of relevant reimbursement issues as they arise. 13. Assistance with completion of Form 990, schedule H, as needed. 14. Maintenance of the hospitals IACS access in order to generate PS&R settlement data as requested or needed. 15. Special projects and other duties as assigned by Management. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, and /or Economics. 2. 2-3 years hospital reimbursement experience including preparation of cost reports. 3. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. 4. Excellent analytical skills including ability to complete detailed workpapers for an audit trail. 5. Effective written and verbal communication skills. 6. Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of the Hackensack Meridian Health organization as needed.
