We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. As treatment options and patient care innovations have continued to become available we strive to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients. At Parkwood, our caring staff focuses on providing compassionate care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities. We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Therapist We are currently seeking a full-time Therapist to provide social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood. The Social Worker/Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning / case management, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within Parkwood. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female children, adolescents and adults as well as dually diagnosed adults in and inpatient, residential, IOP or partial hospital setting. In absence of these qualifications upon hire, an individual must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organizations orientation and training program. Education: Masters degree in health or human services field. Experience: One year prior psychiatric experience preferred. Licensure/Certification : LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred. Knowledge: Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, case management, group leadership skills, discharge planning, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
