JOB SUMMARY

The Reading Coach/Interventionist (Grades K-6) supports the development and implementation of effective reading instruction for the 2025–2026 school year. Working under the supervision of the Director of Education, this role combines coaching teachers in evidence-based literacy practices with providing direct reading intervention to students. The Reading Coach/Interventionist plays a critical role in analyzing student data, guiding instructional decisions, and fostering a school-wide culture of literacy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Instruct and coach teachers in reading instruction (evidence-based practices aligned with the science of reading).
• Provide direct reading services to K-6 students who are struggling with reading – individually and/or a small group.
• Collect and analyze student reading data, use data to inform targeted interventions, and support teachers in ensuring all students can engage with grade-level content.
• Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments, adjusting interventions and instructional strategies as needed.
• Instill a sense of urgency and investment around foundational reading skills within the staff and communicate school wide growth and trends.
• Support a school-wide culture of literacy by sharing best practices, resources, and professional development related to effective reading instruction.
• Assist teachers/PP Team in preparing reports for PPTs.
