    Marketing Specialist / Anesthesia The Communications Specialist is responsible for managing activities related to the Departments strategic communications. The Communications Specialist will work directly with the Anesthesiology leadership team, BH Public Affairs Office and our collaborating departments to develop and implement a communication plan designed to improve communication within the Department, Internal referring practices, and an external audience. The Communications Specialist ensures quality, consistency and appropriateness of content and design of all Anesthesiology internal and external communications. Works with physicians and staff within the Department of Anesthesiology and across BH departments to keep abreast of and develop appropriate communications content. The Communications Specialist performs the following essential functions: 1. Create and consult on communication materials related to the Department of Anesthesiology. This work includes, but is not limited to content development for communications including email, direct mail, marketing collateral, press releases, and website content directed towards multiple internal and external audiences. 2. Creates content using photography, videography, interviews, writing skills to translate the work of the Department of Anesthesiology to education, meaningful, engaging materials for communications and development purposes. 3. Develop internal communication strategies to effectively communicate executive vision and progress toward reaching goals that expand the Department of Anesthesiology and continue to ensure BH is at the forefront of the specialty of Anesthesiology. 4. Acting primary contact for Departmental wide communications; formulating communications goals, objectives, target audiences, key messages, tactics, timeline, and evaluation. 5. Oversees communication plan by developing and editing content, scheduling activities, overseeing design, ensuring branding and compliance, securing a delivery partner, and creating and analyzing metrics to assess effectiveness and return on investment. 6. Responsible for day-to-day implementation of the Department of Anesthesiologys communications strategy by researching, writing and updating overall web content, and managing implementation of graphic design standards. Works directly with a Web Designer to manage website customization, problem resolution and performance management 7. Researches new web features, social media, marketing tools and trends and, as appropriate, makes recommendations for their use. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. The Communications Specialist must satisfy the following minimum qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in marketing, English, journalism or related field; 2. One to three years of experience in the field with demonstrated skills and experience in content marketing and creation of marketing materials; 3. Experience in digital advertising and social media preferred.__ _ _ _SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: _(MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)__ The Communications Specialist must possess the following skills and attributes: strong creative, strategic, analytical and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work at a fast pace, unsupervised; proven project management skills; ability to handle multiple projects and processes simultaneously; and strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to translate between technical and non- technical colleagues to create material for a variety of audiences Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize. Excellent writing skills with ability to capture stories in engaging and respectful manner Highly motivated, independent, entrepreneurial and capable of performing in a complex environment. Attention to detail, with a strong sense of initiative and perseverance to carry through to completion of tasks _BRIGHAM AND WOMENS PHYSICIANS ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBILITIES: _ These are required of all staff, regardless of position. Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation and ethical practice standards relevant to the position and as established by BWPO/Partners; follows safe practices required for the position; complies with appropriate BWH and Partners policies and procedures; fulfills any training required by BWPO and/or Partners, as appropriate; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.__ Required Work Hours A minimum of forty hours per week, plus other hours as may be necessary to complete job duties. A combination of day, evening, and weekend hours is required. Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities 1. The Communications Specialist reports to the Executive Administrator of Anesthesiology. 2. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 3.
