    Internship - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator - Technical Outdoor Job Title: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator Technical Outdoor Location: Ventura, CA General Summary The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator for Technical Outdoor is responsible for analyzing weaknesses and recommending opportunities to better engage with more races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, body shapes and sizes as well as other identities engaged in outdoor recreation within our sport communities (climb, trail run, snow, mountain bike) but underrepresented in Patagonias work. By gaining an understanding of the social landscape of our sport communities, this intern will create and develop a SWOT analysis (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) and use that analysis to make recommendations for outreach, sport participation, inclusion with sport communities, and engagement in environmental campaigns with a more diverse audience. Essential Job Functions * With oversight from the Global Marketing Director, develop a baseline report on the state of social demographics within the Outdoor Industry and Patagonia, including participation, representation and inclusion. * Engage with the Technical Outdoor Marketing team in the go-to-market process in order to make recommendations to cast a lens of inclusion and diversity into the creation of seasonal campaign content for final project. * Gather information from key content creators as well as stakeholders for building our community through engagement with a more diverse group, including Social Media, Digital Marketing and Grassroots Events * Identify and recommend relationships with strategic sport user-groups, events, social media groups and individuals who are addressing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Outdoor Industry and our sport communities whom could be strong partners in executing an action plan. * Create a SWOT analysis & recommendations to be presented to the Technical Outdoor business unit team and appropriate Directors and VPs. * Develop a SWOT analysis and present recommendations for Patagonia Technical Outdoor to improve our outreach, sport participation, inclusion with sport communities, and engagement in environmental campaigns with a more diverse audience. * Define and developer an inclusive, Patagonia-owned event or grassroots experience that celebrates diversity among one of our sport communities, replicable in other locations and/or with our other sport communities Physical Requirements * Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. * Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time. * Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment. * Must be able to travel internationally and domestically utilizing various transportation methods. Minimum Job Qualifications * College Degree in progress * Strong written, verbal and quantitative skills. * Comfort and experience speaking to issues concerning diversity, equity and inclusion. * Ability to build strong inter-personal relationships. * Interest in the following mountain sport communities and culture: climbing, trail running, skiing, snowboarding and/or mountain biking. * Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility. * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills a must, as is the ability to juggle many tasks at one time and change gears quickly. * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with a wide variety of people. * Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines. * Ability to work in an open-concept office/floor plan. Internship Notes: All applicants must have graduated in 2019 or be returning to school in the fall in 2019. This is a paid internship that will also include financial support for summer housing and temporary relocation to the area. This job posting will remain active until January 1st, 2019.
