    Fall 2018 Intern, Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research Tracking Code 733-858 Job Description The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is offering a Fall Internship to a qualified candidate who will support the Evaluation and Analysis team. This paid Internship is a part-time temporary employment opportunity averaging 20 hours per week for an postgraduate student attending a masters program in the DC area. All applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Interested parties may for internships in multiple departments; please include a specific cover letter for each position. Pay Range and Employment Status: Interns shall be classified as temporary, part-time employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work less than PCORI's full-time schedule for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary, part-time workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits. Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour. Current undergraduate level students will be paid $15.00 per hour. Duties and Responsibilities: -Support HDDR's development of a strategic plan. This project entails completing a literature review and compiling data from other funding organizations about successful ways to address challenges in research portfolio management. It also may involve a review of related selected evidence outside specific studies to clarify PCORI contributions via specific studies to the more general field. -Support the Telehealth Evidence to Action Network. This project will include a number of exciting opportunities related to communicating findings from a stakeholder workshop to PCORI investigators. These include preparing presentations and other materials to describe the strengths of PCORI's telehealth portfolio and invoke discussion, and providing logistical support for a series of webinars. Assist with coding telehealth projects to continuously update the portfolio analysis as the portfolio grows. - Intern may help with support in the preparation of portfolio syntheses or communication materials about the HDDR portfolio overall or in areas such as asthma, opioids, palliative care, pragmatic trials, or the elderly, being spearheaded by staff in the Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research group. Required Skills Seeking a candidate currently enrolled in a post-graduate program in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Policy, Public Administration, Public Policy Graduate student or advanced degree holder in a field related to Public Health, Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Clinical Fields, and other allied fields (e.g., social work). Interest in healthcare systems research, healthcare systems improvement, and telehealth. Experience conducting literature reviews. Previous experience in a healthcare system (clinical, administrative, community, or research settings), advocacy or relevant stakeholder organization preferred. Basic understanding of health services research methodology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
