    POSITION SUMMARYThe physical therapy aide position is an entry-level position that works directly with patients and physical therapists to help our patients feel better. Here at Performance Physical Therapy, we are friendly, upbeat, and work in a fast-paced environment.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Work one-on-one with patients during the therapeutic exercise portion of the treatment under the supervision of a physical therapist

    Learn a wide variety of rehabilitative exercises

    Take direction from physical therapists to set up modalities for patients such as hot/cold packs, electric stimulation, vasopneumatic device

    Assists physical therapists with staying on track with the patient's schedule for the day

    Communicate with physical therapists regularly regarding patient care throughout the treatment

    Assist patients properly with walking, transitioning from sitting down to standing up, laying down to standing up, etc.

    Ensure cleanliness of treatment areas and the office

    Ensure upkeep of laundry (towels and pillowcases)

    JOB SKILLS:

    Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

    Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff members in a team environment, patients, family members, and the general public.

    Able to think ahead to anticipate the needs of patients and/or physical therapists

    Must be able to lift 25 lbs

    Preferred Experience/Education

    Exercise Science or Healthcare Students/Graduates preferred

    Some examples include exercise science, sports health, kinesiology, medical diagnostics, etc.

    Minimum Required Hours: 20 hours per week Part-time & full-time positions are available at our Barley Mill, Hockessin, and Concord Pike locationsHiring Process:
