General Summary
The Patient Care Specialist may have various levels of education as appropriate for their discipline. Under limited supervision, they perform a specialized high level of function including focused measurements specific to their discipline, which address the needs of the patient/resident. The Patient Care Specialist provides supportive services to the Care Team as required and appropriate.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will carry out physical therapy treatment plans for inpatients/residents and outpatients as directed by the Physical Therapist based on current principles and standards of practice, which may include assisting the Physical Therapist in the performance of selected assessment procedures such as ROM, girth, or wound measurements. The Physical Therapist Assistant will function as a multidisciplinary team member with other rehabilitation staff members and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients/residents served include all age groups (Infant through Adult-Geriatric), but primarily Adult-Geriatric.

Reporting Relationships
Reports to the PT-Patient Care Clinician for specific patient/resident related duties. Overall supervision from the Director of Rehabilitation Services or designee.
