IS Field Support Tech **JOB PURPOSE: ** Performing analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, installation and support of new and existing desktop and laptop systems, printers, wireless devices and peripherals. Communicates with end users to determine needs, schedule work, and provide basic training on all hardware and some software. Configure and deploy laptops in a corporate wireless environment. Provide on-call support in a 24 x 7 environment. Responding to, diagnosing and resolving personal computer, workstation and application- related problems through discussion with users, delivering remote technical support for Piedmont Healthcare. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ** 1. Provides end user hardware repair and replacement services o Identifies and initiates resolutions to customer problems and concerns associated with hardware and software (networked and local); performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to resolve problems. o Maintains, tests, configures and upgrades end user equipment according to set standards 2. Processes service requests; coordinate with technicians and/or vendors and schedules appropriate services to meet organizational and individual needs 3. Evaluates system performance; provides reports to management o Recommends new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service to all end users. 4. Plans and coordinates the purchase, installation and implementation of hardware and software according to end user and Information Systems standards and procedures o Audits all hardware and wireless service invoices for payment by accounting o Maintains software and hardware registration and inventory data o Provides consultation services for individual/local hardware and software requests o Obtains appropriate vendor quotes and prepares requisitions for purchasing 5. Takes appropriate action in the event of any major system failure to provide on-site support to customers and act as a liaison with the Information Services division IND789 #LI-POST **MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: ** **** Associates Degree from a recognized college or university in Computer Science, programming, or closely-related field preferred. ** MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: ** One (1) year of work experience in an I.S. customer service operation required. Experience may replace the educational requirement on a year-for- year basis. ** MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: ** Technical certificate required. ** ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: ** Understanding of the components of technology hardware equipment such as computers, wireless devices, printers, peripherals, etc. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite products, remote connectivity, VPN, remote support tools, printer setups, wireless devices.
