    POSITION COMPONENTS:

    Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health is recruiting for a Post Doc position in pre-clinical sciences, located in US, Skillman/ Fort Washington (2 year position).  The intent of the position is to build the US based pre-clinical sciences bench strength with strong talent that can potentially transition into a longer term scientific career track within J&J Consumer health R&D.

    The candidate will be an individual contributor and US based point person lead within the Global pre-clinical sciences team dedicated for providing toxicological support to Global Self-care covering the OTC/Self-Care portfolio by conducting risk assessments and applying toxicology and pre‐clinical safety information for APIs and excipients.  This would be applicable to the development of new products (NPD) and life cycle management of existing products that are marketed by the J&J Consumer Health. The candidate will also closely work with the US Medical and Clinical Sciences team to contribute to relevant strategic efforts related to in market ingredient topics for the Self-Care are portfolio,  This role will also be responsible for serving as the point person liaison with the Center of Excellence Pre-clinical science team located in Mumbai India.  The role is also expected to build state of the science expertise in pre-clinical data approaches to dietary supplements from a toxicological perspective.  The role will also partner with other cross-functional medical/clinical experts in self care to contribute to creative pre-clinical toxicological methods that support the innovation pipeline.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Conduct safety review of ingredients/excipients and OTC products and Dietary Supplements in Johnsons & Johnson’s Consumer Health sector for successful new product development and support changes in the existing products. Support to address nonclinical safety requirements including impurity qualifications and California Proposition 65 compliance review.

    2. Carry out literature search, analyze the safety data and prepare non-clinical section of regulatory documents such as e-CTD, Clinical Trial Application, Company Core Data Sheets etc within Self-care domain.

    3. Provide support to address Health Authority queries and compliance activities.

    4. Ability to evaluate the existing data and non-clinical requirements and plan for appropriate non-clinical studies (in vitro and in vivo studies) and evaluate the study outcomes to support safety. Review of preclinical study design, protocols and reports to ensure compliance of safety requirements.

    5. Representation as Toxicology team member in internal and external meetings and develop as Toxicology subject matter expert in Self-care/ OTC franchise

    6. Work closely within Self-care Toxicology team and Collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure seamless support to business requirements. Connect with medical safety, medical affairs, regulatory and other functions to gain insights and provide overall technical support

  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ph.D. in Toxicology or Ph.D. in biological sciences with a Masters in Toxicology along with research in toxicology as evidenced by publications in Toxicology;
    • Experience in working in the field of Toxicology would be preferred
    • Basic knowledge of Toxicology studies for different end points
    • Understanding of Regulatory requirements for drug development and impurity qualifications
    • Experience or knowledge on in silico methods to predict toxicology endpoints.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to critically evaluate data from multiple sources (study reports and literature, etc.)
    • Ability to describe Hazard and prepare Risk assessment reports
    • The ability to collaborate across teams
    • Detail oriented, organized, self-starter with a demonstrated track record of achievements
    • Knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
