    Janssen Research & Development LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for a Post-doctoral Scientist on the Cardiovascular and Metabolism Team, located in Spring House, PA.

    As a postdoctoral scientist in Cardiovascular and Metabolism at Janssen, you will join the Renal/hepatic disease team to develop innovative therapeutics for the treatment of fibrosis. The research will be focused on innovative and translational approach to identify and validate new targets related to stellate cells (HSC) activation and fibrosis for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) treatment.

    The candidate will work in collaboration with CVM in vitro and in vivo scientists, as well as key stakeholders from relevant cross-functional areas involved in the project. The position provides an opportunity to deepen the scientific background for the treatment of NASH fibrosis and ground breaking technologies and to develop drug discovery expertise. There is an expectation to publish the results of the research.

    The role will be responsible for identification and triage of HSC targets from established translational candidate pools and design, execution of experiments to evaluate the MOA (mechanism of action) and performing proof-of concept studies of candidate targets of potential leads in NASH model. This is an outstanding opportunity which combines translational data analysis from NASH patient with in vitro/vivo pioneering studies for development of translational NASH therapeutics.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ph.D. degree in life sciences concepts: molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics etc. or pharmacology, or other relevant fields.

    • Working experience in metabolic disorders/diseases, liver diseases/NASH.

    • Strong lab experimental skills, problem-solving capabilities, and good work ethic.

    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people.

    • Strong organizational skills including the ability to run several experiments/projects simultaneously

    • Ability to analyze and present data in professional publication ready format.

    • Publications or relevant postdoc experience in NASH and fibrosis is preferred.

    • Experience in hepatic stellate cells (HSC) preferred.
