    Janssen R&D is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Exploratory Biology group located in Spring House, PA.

     

    The candidate will work on a project focused on development of in vitro and in vivo pharmacology models of tumor development with respect to the efficacy of T cell redirection mechanisms. Specifically, they will focus on understanding the tumor microenvironment modeling in solid tumors and how to overcome immune suppression and would allow the potential to work with in vivo models and/or to focus on complex/3D tumor models. 

     

    The candidate will have the opportunity to work independently to develop, implement, and troubleshoot the research strategy that will help us expand our understanding of Janssen’s CD3 platform and therapeutic strategies to enhance efficacy of T cell redirection large molecules in solid tumors. The candidate will also have the ability to work with and be mentored by the Exploratory Biology team within Janssen Biotherapeutics.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Designing and supporting the implementation of in vivo mouse studies in partnership with JBIO in vivo team. Processing and dissociating mouse blood, tumors, and tissues from in vivo studies for analysis by in vitro assays (flow cytometry and function)
    • In vitro immune assays such as cytotoxicity, cytokine release, immune cell purification, and characterization
    • Mammalian tissue culture of cell lines, primary murine and human cells and blood products (BSL2 and BSL2+)
    • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc, and maintain familiarity with relevant scientific literature

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Required Minimum Education: PhD
    • Required Years of Related Experience:  0-2 years post PhD
    • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • English
    • In vitro functional assay experience to test drug candidates (e.g. cytotoxicity, proliferation, apoptosis)
    • Data analysis using common software programs (ie. Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo) and comprehension of basic statistical methods
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively present scientific data and concepts to international standards
