    We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with extensive experience in in vitro models of inflammation to generate innate immune mechanistic insights linked to the regulation of Th1/Th2 responses in skin immune-mediated diseases.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Crafting, performing and interpreting in vitro and in vivo experiments to support the generation of mechanistic insights linking innate immune signaling to Th1/Th2 adaptive responses for the treatment of skin immune-mediated diseases.

    • Working directly with Janssen Discovery Immunologists and have the opportunity to interact with academic collaborators and authorities in the field.

    • Investigating new molecular mechanisms around therapeutic targets as important drivers of disease pathogenesis, using relevant human primary skin cells and patient-derived models to validate findings.

    • Working closely with partners in Discovery, Computational Biology and Translational Science and Medicine to expand and validate mechanistic findings in skin diseases.

    • Contributing to the generation of regulatory documents, abstracts and publications.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • PhD in Immunology or related field.

    • Experience with in vitro cellular models of inflammation as reflected by publication(s) is required.

    • Experience with cellular models of inflammation using isolation and culture of human primary cells (including non-immune and immune cells) is required.

    • Experience with in vivo and in vitro models of dermatologic diseases is preferred.

    • Experience in immunology techniques – including flow cytometry, cell sorting, multiplexed MSD/ELISA, co-cultures of immune cells with target cells, generation of gene expression datasets from RNAseq and novel cellular models using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing approach – is preferred.

    • Experience with isolating/culturing primary tissue cells from normal or patient skin diseases is preferred.

    • Experience with bioinformatics tools – including interpreting gene expression datasets and single cell data to perform pathway analysis and gene network clustering – is preferred.

    • Excellent interpersonal & collaborative skills with an ability to operate as part of a team in highly interdependent environment are required.
