Johnson & Johnson is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW – PHARMACOKINETICS AND PHARMACODYNAMICS (CELLULAR THERAPIES) to join our team in the DMPK, Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety (PSTS. This position is located in Spring House, PA, but does have the option to be remote!

The Janssen R&D Discovery, Product Development, & Supply (DPDS) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program helps early career scientists gain the training and experience needed to further their careers, while addressing the needs of global healthcare. Janssen DPDS Postdocs work side-by-side with Janssen scientists on innovative research projects and have the opportunity to present and publish their work. They also learn the functional role of scientists in the pharmaceutical industry and receive valuable career advice from mentors while building a network of professional contacts and developing the skills needed to advance their careers.
This is a post-doctoral position within the DMPK function, Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety (PSTS). The post-doctoral fellow, under supervision, will be responsible to research and deliver on critical questions in the area of translational PK/PD and first in human dosing approaches for cell therapies (CAR-Ts) through data collection and meta-analysis. The candidate will be provided opportunities to train and apply hands-on PK/PD M&S techniques towards projects goals.
The position is expected to closely interact with cell therapy project team members/ leaders from cross-functions within PSTS, therapeutic discovery, and oncology therapeutic area to complete assigned tasks and achieve project goals. Additional expectations include, attending in-house/external seminars and scientific meetings as appropriate to develop professional competency and support team goals; present findings at team meetings, in-house research forums, and national/international conferences, where applicable; strive to publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
THE CANDIDATE’S RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Systematic literature review and data compilation
Meta-analysis and PK/PD modeling
Preclinical to clinical translation for doses of cell therapies
Development, training, conferences, internal meetings & symposia
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, Biological Sciences, Biological or Chemical Engineering or equivalent with a track record of sound scientific achievement through publications is required.
Background and understanding of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) concepts and/or understanding of cell therapies is preferred
Proficiency in quantitative (correlative and statistical) approaches to perform meta-analysis and/or hands-on experience performing mechanism-based modeling and use of quantitative approaches in describing PK/PD systems using preclinical and clinical pharmacology data for biologics is desired. Proficiency in the use of modeling software such as WinNonlin/Phoenix, Monolix, or similar ones is desired
