The Grill Cook may also work in the kitchen and produce food for various areas of the department including patient tray line, catering, as well as the cafeteria as the need arises. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Prepares, from standardized recipe directions, hot food according to the customers request in a quick and efficient manner. Ensures that proper food service is provided to customers, making use of recipes, garnishing instructions and portion charts. -Prepares and serves food in a safe, sanitary manner ensuring all safety and sanitation procedures are followed. Carries out job responsibilities thoroughly ensuring all aspects of the job are completed as required. -Utilizes all products in a cost-effective manner and a clean environment. Follows assigned cleaning schedules and procedures to sanitize area. Maintains proper handling and storage of goods according to the Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) program. -Works effectively with peers, supervisors and managers as a member of the team and establishes collaborative and supportive relationships. Cross trains in various cook positions and assists in the proper training and orientation of new staff. -Follows established policies and procedures for all aspects of the job being performed. Works well with other coworkers in a team atmosphere and follows the directions of the supervisor or manager as needed. Sanitation certifications should be secured within six months of hire.
