    We could use your passion and dedication to transform patient care through innovation. Your role will be vital in contributing to the pipeline and will help to improve the existing product portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical expertise for design, development, testing and production scale-up of new packaging components, systems and processes.

    • Leads and executes projects having a significant impact on company programs

    • Provide departmental technical expertise and collaborates with research and development, product management, stability, regulatory, and quality process among other functions to ensure all package design requirements are met.

    • Provides departmental strategic leadership by leading and/or crafting broad departmental, Surgery, and company initiatives.

    • Leads all aspects of the product / package portfolio develop business strategies for continuous improvement related to design, process, and validation

    • Manages the package testing lab and ensures equipment is in working order and in calibration. Determines and coordinates physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users.

    • Leads resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing, compliance, and the field. Develops recommendations on general packaging guidelines and standards for processes and functional requirements and ensures regulatory requirements are satisfied.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Minimum of a Bachelors degree and/or equivalent University degree required; focused degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, Packaging engineering preferred. Advanced degree preferred

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    • Minimum six (6) years of relevant professional work experience.

    • Experience with new product development and commercialization of products in a regulated industry in a technical role

    • An understanding of the package development process and responsibilities

    • Proficiency in computers and technology including Microsoft Office applications

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

    • Project/Program leadership

    Preferred:

    • Experience within the Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical industries

    • Experience working with medical device package development as a packaging engineer

    • Wound closure product and process experience

    • Knowledge of Package Assembly and Manufacturing processes

    • Knowledge of sterile barrier packaging systems and design verification including ASTM or ISTA test methods

    • Knowledge and experience with ISO11607

    • Understanding of sterilization modes used in medical devices

    • Project management experience or certification

    Other:

    • May require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel to other sites/locations

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $100,000 - $172,500/yr.

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
