    User Experience (UX) Designer The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime. We are looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer in Seattle, WA to be responsible for leading the team in creating intuitive and innovative user experiences for websites and digital products. The Sr. UX Designer will work across the user experience domain, including research (user interviews, ethnography, persona development), design (sketching, group ideation, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping), documentation (wire framing and specification writing), and user testing. What youll work on: This position will define and create simple, intuitive, high-quality user experiences for a suite of web and digital products covering a broad range of business and clinical purposes. The Sr. UX designer will use skills as a seasoned, experienced user experience designer with a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures to complete a wide range of assignments, and be a professional resource and leader answering customer questions and guiding decisions about usability and user interaction, as well as validating solutions through testing. How youll be doing this: This position will work closely with the product management and product marketing team to identify user needs and goals. * Contribute to the creation and adoption of agile UX processes, interacting with both product management and product development teams, leading agile retrospectives, showcases and planning meetings as needed. * Effectively translate business requirements into product requirements that create real and enduring value, evidenced by lasting relationships with our consumers. * Communicate up, and around creating visibility into project goals, risks, progress, and successes. The UX Designer will also lead the user experience team to create and communicate interaction and UX design decisions in the most appropriate forms, from user stories, to wireframes to high fidelity prototypes. * Develop and maintain design mockups, user flows, wireframe, detailed specifications and other design documents as needed. * Prototype concept designs and validate design direction with appropriate user and stakeholder input. * Plan and attend a wide range of user-centered research projects including usability testing, contextual and stakeholder interviews. * Work closely with development team to deliver a phenomenal user experience. * Present and rationalize design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations. * Manage the interaction design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules. * Provide leadership in understanding technical and operational capabilities and constraints to ensure that our digital products work correctly within system constraints (e.g., our electronic medical records system) and operational constraints. * Special projects as assigned. Required qualifications for this position include: * Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of workplace experience, education and/or training is required. * 3+ years experience in a leadership role with emphasis in web and mobile experience design. * Experience in planning and conducting usability research is required. * Demonstrated experience with implementing user interface design best practices and guidelines in websites and/or production software. * Ability to transfer user research into simple, intuitive user interfaces and experiences. * Demonstrated knowledge of web accessibility principles and experience in building for web accessibility. * Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of user experience testing methodologies including usability testing, A/B testing, focus groups, and surveys. * Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Must possess ability to analyze and present data and research with credibility. * Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction and problem identification and resolution. * Superb judgment, problem solving, and cognitive skills. Demonstrated ability to define, develop, and analyze performance measures and metrics. * Ability to study, understand, adapt and respond effectively to a changing health care environment, as well as to understand and align with an organization, its structure and priorities. * Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with multidisciplinary groups. * Responsive service orientation - positive "can do" approach to initiatives, problems and solutions. * A demonstrated track record of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than you found it.
