Qualified Mental Health Associate - Emergency Department Providence is calling a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) (0.9 FTE, Nights) to our Emergency Department at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. ** ** ** Our QMHAs provides services as a member of the interdisciplinary team in the emergency department which includes physicians, social workers, nurses and many other caregivers. The schedule for this position will be three nights a week from 7pm - 7:30am. A shift differential is provided for this overnight opportunity. In this position, you will: ** * Provide intervention and continuity of care to patients with behavioral health concerns and/or severe psycho-social stressors. * Have interventions that involve providing supervision, emotional support, behavioral intervention, and basic care needs while functioning in the role of Qualified Mental Health Associate. * Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept, culture of excellence and accountability. Required qualifications for this position include: * Must meet qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Associate as identified by OARS 309-032-001 through 1295; specifically a Bachelors degree in a behavioral science field or a combination of at least 3 years of work, education, training, or experience * Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification within 60 days of hire * Annual training in Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 60 days of hire * 2 or more years of experience providing direct care assistance to individuals with behavioral health concerns and/or severe psycho-social stressors and/or Development Disabilities Preferred qualifications for this position include: * Bachelor's degree in mental health related field such as social work, psychology, and/or counseling * Crisis Intervention or emergency experience About Providence in Oregon As the largest healthcare system and largest private employer in Oregon, Providence offers exceptional work environments and unparalleled career opportunities.
