We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable. ** In this position you will: * Articulate and interpret the meaning of spiritual care in the context of health and illness, and advocate for its effective inclusion in the health care we provide. * Communicate with patients, families and members of the health care team in an effort to enhance dignity, autonomy and self-respect as well as a sense of hope and spiritual well being. * Cooperate with other disciplines, units and programs as an active member of the care team. * Network and collaborate with appropriate community groups, such as parishes and other health agencies, in order to assure the continuity of spiritual care throughout the health-illness cycle. Required qualifications for this position include: * Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Care, or related field OR ordained priest in the Catholic church * Current Chaplain certification, or certification eligible, issued by National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) (Those hired prior to certification will have 18 months to achieve certification) * At least four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) * Knowledge of basic software applications (e.g. Outlook, Work, Excel, email, etc) **Preferred qualifications for this position include: ** * Knowledge of Catholic theology and social teachings * Experience working in a rural healthcare environment * Two (2) years' ministry experience in healthcare setting **About the hospitals you will serve. **Mount Carmel Hospital is a Critical Access hospital in Colville, WA serving a three county area in Northeast Washington.
