    We are searching for the best talent for a Quality Assurance Inspector to be in Memphis, TN.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for ensuring company products are in compliance with internal and external specifications by performing a variety of routine and non-routine inspections and evaluations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

    • Under minimal supervision, makes decisions within established departmental guidelines.

    • Utilizes independent judgment in problem solving. Decisions made can have an impact regarding DePuy goals and objectives.

    • Supports budgetary activities as prescribed by QA Supervisor

    • Solicits overtime as need pending approval of QA supervisor.

    • Assists QA Supervisor in performance reviews.

    • Define resources for day to day through put requirements.

    • Works with Expeditor/ Planner to provide optimal product flow through inspection lab.

    • Works independently on complex inspections and delegated as effectively.

    • Performs varied product inspections, generally of finished goods, components, incoming materials, or new products, by observing, measuring, and recording data.

    • Records detailed documentation of test results and quality observations.

    • Performs First Article Inspections.

    • Perform and coordinate launch activities as required.

    • Compares inspection results to defined requirements or specifications and documents differences found.

    • Inspects workmanship for defects and notifies supervisor and team of suspected problems.

    • Create NC’s based on established guidelines as required.

    • Investigates proper disposition of defective products.

    • Provides information regarding rework/reject data to more Engineering personal for validation and inclusion with production reports.

    • Consults with Engineering personnel to determine which products can be reworked.

    • Participates in discussions with other departments regarding quality standards.

    • Provide input on inspection methodologies and Inspection plan creations.

    • Verifies planned actions are correct before implementing.

    • Comply with company policies and procedures including those relating to safety and quality.

    • Conduct training for lower-level technicians.

    • Develops technicians to become a technical resource and point of contact regarding quality issues with their specific area.

    • Supports Internal Audits for Quality Inspection

    • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

    • Adhere to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines. Immediately inform supervisors If there are any violations, deviations, or hazards present related to health, safety, or environment.

    • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next management level.

    • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

    • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

    • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Vocational Certificate, Technical or Associates.

    • ASQ-CQI Certified

    • Geometric and Dimensional Tolerancing Certified

    • QSR/ISO Certified preferred

    • Detail oriented.

    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft suite.

    • Understanding of calibration methodologies & practices.

    • Understanding of manufacturing processes.

    • Interpersonal relations and communication skills are required.

    • Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to speak to broad, non‐technical audiences that are both internal and external personnel.

    • Ability to make solid decisions that will effectively support the business and company policies.

    • Computer literate skills on Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint.

    • Ability to work in fast paced environment and rapidly shifting priorities with business and financial acumen.
