    Job Description

    Are you a Special Education teacher? Work in the field of developmental disabilities? Getting burnt out with school politics? Come join an innovative, advocacy driven, special needs agency as an I/DD QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL. An I/DD Qualified Professional manages a caseload of participants, writing care plans, supervising service delivery, advocating for services and funding, handling crisis, utilizing an EHR system and ensuring access to care for children and adults with Innovations Waiver services. This position is ideal for a creative thinker who likes to take the initiative, perform and/or assist with parts of various problem-solving duties, interact with parents, and has the ability to work as part of a professional team. This position has room for growth. Travel to local clientele and meetings is required. QP have a 50/50 split between community based work and desk work. You will never be bored.     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Management skills are a must.
    • Problem solving skills.
    • Experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
    • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and excellent work ethics.
    • Excellent Computer skills.
    • Must be detail oriented and well-developed in organization, prioritization, decision-making, time management.
    • Needs to be multi-task oriented, flexible, and able to adapt effectively to challenging and emergency situations.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Clean criminal background.
    • Must have 4-year degree in an area of Human Services or special education and 2-years of post-graduate experience.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as an advocate for the individuals we serve.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with a variety of individuals and groups including the individuals we serve, families/guardians, Care Coordinator, representative of Local Management Entity (MCO), etc.
    • Provide training and monitor the direct care providers to ensure that the consumer's needs are being met and goals are being implemented correctly.
    • Attend ISP, SIS Assessment, and team meetings as scheduled.
    • Communicate appropriate recommendations and/or needs to the Clinical Director and/or Executive Management.
    • Coordinate and meet deadlines for the implementation of Service Plans.
    • Need to complete all intake forms necessary of new admissions and the upkeep of client files.
    • Coordinate and conduct all direct care provider monthly and quarterly supervision during and after business hours.
    • Implementation of company policies and procedures.
    • Processing monthly and quarterly progress reports.
    • Conducting tours.
    • This position may require occasional traveling to areas as Wake County, Iredell County, Catawba County, and Cleveland County.
    • Other duties as assigned

    CREDENTIALS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Graduate of a college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field and has 2 years of experience in the Intellectual Developmental Disability (I/DD) field post-graduation.
    • Graduate of a college or university with a 4-year degree in an unrelated human service field and has 4 years’ experience in the developmental disability field post-graduation.
