We also constantly invest in our staff and provide a great work environment and best-in-class benefits. Job Summary A hospital client in Oakland, CA is looking for an HR Employment Clerk. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Recruitment, the HR Employment Clerk performs an extensive variety of clerical and support duties for the Employment Division and the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include: * Primary contact point for department; provides excellent customer service answering main HR phone line and greeting visitors. Responds to inquiries and provides general information relating to Human Resources. Retrieves messages from Human Resources general voicemail and responds as appropriate (by returning call or passing message to appropriate HR team member). * Creates on-boarding file with applicable documents and conducts primary source verification. * Provide clerical support for the New Employee Orientation program. * Filing I-9 forms accurately and timely in compliance with Immigration and Reform Act guidelines, including purging of terminated I-9s. * Maintains Human Resources file room and personnel files within. Creates new employee files, updates files as needed, archives terminated employee files, sends terminated employee files to off-site storage, and pulls files from storage. Ensures general cleanliness and organization of file room. Conducts occasional audits to ensure all files present. Assists maintaining compliance to standards set by Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies by ensuring employee documents filed accurately and in timely manner. * Provides admin support to Manager, Sr. HR Generalist, Recruitment and other HR Managers. * Sources, screens and is responsible for responding to applications received in the Applicant Tracking System for Facilities, entry level and other positions as needed. Additional Responsibilities: * Creates and audits Employment Division packets. * Processes Employment Division mailings and surveys. * Administers employment related tests to applicants. * Distributes mail within Human Resources. * Picks up department paychecks from cashier and distributes to department team members. * Replenishes hard copy forms available to employees in the hospital Job Qualifications * 2+ years of HR experience in the hospital or healthcare setting required. * Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures. * Microsoft Office and Excel experience required. * High School Diploma Required, AA Degree preferred. * Epic or Meditech experience preferred.
