Position Components

In this role, you will

• Design and implement platform components that are well-defined, modularized, secure, reliable, reusable, diagnosable, and actively monitored.
• Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and database technologies.
• Perform programming tasks to support in-house data tools, platforms, pipelines, and workflows.
• Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code based on specifications.

Qualifications

Required:

• Be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related degrees.
• Possess a strong understanding of Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, or related field as demonstrated by current or prior coursework.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills (technical and/or business).
• Proficiency in Python or R programming language.
• Can work individually (independently) as well as on a team.
• Be highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Candidates must be available to work full-time during the internship.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future.

Preferred:

• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, and database schema/structure design.
• Coursework or background in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, and other life sciences.
• A working knowledge of web application design and programming.
• Experience with relevant disease biology in cancer, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, or infectious disease.
