  • Responsibilities

    The Research and Development (R&D) Intern at Biomedical Enterprises, a DePuy Synthes company, located in San Antonio, Texas will perform product design and development tasks, as well as research and testing activities under the guidance of assigned R&D Engineers of various levels according in support of the organizations objectives, Credo, and quality policy under the direction of the Director of R&D.

    POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete assigned tasks and daily activities in the Research & Development Department.
    • Execute tasks in the Research & Development Department in direct support of research and testing, new product development, sustaining of product and regulatory approvals.
    • Work as directed with other team members to support manufacturing process improvements, and sales and marketing activities.
    • Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.
    • Diligently participate in compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or Chief Compliance Officer.
    • Promote and nurture the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance, and actively support our compliance department initiatives and activities.
    • Assume responsibility for successful completion of assigned projects and tasks.
    • Perform research and testing specific to design control guidelines and project needs.
    • Contribute to and review technical documents and materials produced by the Research & Development Department.
    • Must have good interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Solidworks, etc.)
    • Work proactively, demonstrating an acceptable level of initiative.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future. -The R&D Intern must be a technical contributor and exhibit good engineering judgement.
    • They must have an ability to perform to specific deadlines as dictated by a highly competitive marketplace and have drive, tenacity, and outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrated with a high degree of professional and personal integrity.
    • Candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or a related engineering field.
    • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of Engineering education.
    • A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
