Financial Analyst - Net Revenue Variance Analytics Chicago, IL - Position Summary Set your sights on a role making a real difference in the healthcare system. This expanding group is responsible for analyzing and explaining net revenue variances on our clients income statements and demonstrate the value R1 adds to Revenue Cycle operations. As a member of the Net Revenue Variance Analytics team, you will be responsible in providing analytical expertise while proactively root causing net revenue shifts. In this role, you will conduct complex financial analytics that value the impact of strategic operational decisions and changing environmental factors. The analyst will play a key role in building net revenue models, informing management of new trends in hospital revenue composition, and providing data points to drive operational and strategic actions. Your day to day role will include: - Conducting monthly financial analytics to accurately measure net revenue shifts due to factors such as volume and rate changes, service mix shifts, acuity fluctuations, etc. - Assisting the NRVA Directors and the NRVA Vice President with monthly reporting packages for delivery to client C-suite and internal leadership. - Compiling and interpreting large sets of healthcare data for alternative performance reviews as well as ad hoc reporting. - Communicating with internal and client partners to gather necessary budget details and develop a strong understanding of all budget assumptions. - Collaborating with operators, contract modelers, and other analysts to identify any known factors impacting current period results. - Developing process solutions through automation, standardization, and innovation. - Supporting management with the assistance of an offshore analyst team. - Sharing the NRVA model to a variety of business partners while gaining exposure to different skill sets. You Have: - Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent 1+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, analyzing financial results/statements and conducting ad hoc analytics - Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies - Exemplary analytical and critical thinking skills - Ability to articulate and defend concepts effectively - Effectively communicate results of financial analyses to all organizational levels - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while driving toward completion of key goals - Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally - Strong attention to detail - Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point It would be great if you also have: - Familiarity with database tools such as SQL and Microsoft Access.
