    This position allows for job progression to Facilities Maintenance Foreman.  Placement in or promotion between job levels is based upon skills and experience upon hire, as well as job performance and the demonstrated ability to successfully complete the required tasks of the position.

    • Maintain safe, secure, and clean environment in KANA facilities and on premises for beneficiaries, general public and employees.
    • Electrical Building Maintenance: Maintain a quality standard for conditions of all KANA owned and leased facilities by performing activities such inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, fire alarm, access control and HVACR system equipment and associated controls. Position involves the troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing HVAC components, controls, plumbing, lighting, electrical devices, changing filters, and scheduled lubrication of mechanical equipment.
    • Documentation: complete documentation associated with the work order process in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Greet visitors, staff, and others in a professional courteous manner, and direct visitors as appropriate.
    • Security: Monitor facilities to ensure patients, employees, and visitors have a safe environment while on KANA owned properties; reporting any safety or security concerns to the appropriate person or establishment; overseeing building keys and badge access for employees; responding to requests for emergency assistance; and requesting further support from public safety agencies as needed.
    • Travel to remote communities by small plane as assigned to complete work at KANA owned or operated facilities.
    • Available for on-call work and able to adjust to a changing work schedule based on emergencies and scheduled maintenance activities.

      

     

    NON ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS MAY BE ASSIGNED ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS

    • Ground Maintenance: Ensure KANA grounds are safe and clean by performing activities such as landscaping, trimming, pruning, mowing, pest control, shoveling and plowing snow, and spreading snow melt; removing trash, dirt and leaves from common areas, entryways, sidewalks, and parking lots; installing signage; keeping the walkways and driveways safe for travel; and general maintenance of grounds equipment and tools.
    • Janitorial: Provide janitorial services for KANA occupied offices, hallways, and other assigned rooms by routinely removing trash, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows, and collecting and disposing of biohazard material. 
    • Courier: Provide courier services to pick-up/deliver materials such as food, files, documents, furniture, etc. for company meetings, events, and activities. Drive company-owned vehicles and transport designated beneficiaries, employees, and visitors as requested.

     

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Required Experience

     

    • Minimum high school diploma
    • Three (3) years or more of experience in performing service work or building maintenance.
    • Experience with the maintenance and repair of HVAC and/or Electrical systems is required.  
    • Trade Certifications, State of Alaska Journeyman Licenses, Vocational or AA degree is preferred. 
    • Driver's License for the past three consecutive years with acceptable driving record.
