    The RECOVERY RESOLUTION SPECIALIST is responsible for investigating, recovering and resolving all types of claims as well as recovery and resolution for health plans, commercial customers and government entities. May include initiating telephone calls to members, providers and other insurance companies to gather coordination of benefits data. Investigate and pursue recoveries and payables on subrogation claims and file management. Process recovery on claims. Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies, reimbursement policies and contract compliance. May conduct contestable investigations to review medical history. May monitor large claims including transplant cases. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Adjusting claims
    • Process and post refund checks that are solicited and unsolicited
    • Research claim payment accuracy as related to refunds received
    • Open, sort, date stamp, count, scan and document the receipt of file correspondence, including refund checks. Distribute correspondence to staff accordingly
    • Answer incoming phone calls in a polite and professional manner. Facilitate the handling of callers' request for information. Route calls to other staff members; take and deliver accurate and complete messages as appropriate. Screen calls and initiate resolution of questions/issues without consultation with others
    • Ability to work with providers, clients, and internal departments to assist with processing refunds
    • Assist staff and/or the management team with case investigation, research or development as needed
    • File Maintenance/Archiving
    • Other Administrative duties as assigned by manager
    • Some work is completed without established procedures.
    • Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
    • Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • Healthcare Insurance experience
    • Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
    • 1+ years of experience dealing with medical claims
    • Ability to work any 8hr shift between the hours of operations Monday - Friday 6:30am to 5:30pm

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • ICD9 and CPT coding experience

    • Advanced analytical / problem solving skill
    • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to function as a positive team member as well as independently
    • Ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
