ITCD Specialist ReDiscover 25 reviews - Kansas City, MO ReDiscover is a nonprofit community mental health agency that offers a full spectrum of programs and services for people whose lives have been affected by serious mental illness and/or substance use. ReDiscover helps men, women, and children who have limited income, no insurance or who are under-insured. We started out in Lee's Summit, MO as a group of volunteers in the basement of a local church. We incorporated in 1969. Over the years, the community has known our agency and our unique programs by several different names, including Research Mental Health, North Star, and Common Ground. In 2003, we permanently changed our agency name to ReDiscover. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the general direction of the Department Manager or Team Leader, the ITCD (Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders) Specialist provides assistance to people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders to live successfully in the community. The ITCD Specialist partners with each client in the achievement of long-term outcomes of symptom management, employment, and independent living, based on the individual needs and preferences of the person served. Clinical services shall be provided in accordance with the policies and procedures of ReDiscover, the evidence-based ITCD model, and the contractual requirements of the State of Missouri, Department of Behavioral Health. Job duties include but are not limited to the following: * Assess clients completely using all the assessment tools required to develop a comprehensive assessment.

• Continually identifies, assesses, and provides therapeutic interventions. * Guides client in developing a person centered treatment plan based upon assessed needs, agreed upon by the client and treatment team. * Ensures that treatment plan objectives, interventions, services provided, and documentation are related to needs identified within the assessments and are medically necessary. * Establishes rapport quickly and develops a therapeutic relationship to determine appropriate service level and/or discharge * Quickly identifies needs of the individual clients with the goal of therapeutic engagement * Responds to psychiatric crisis * Matches therapeutic approach to the client presentation * Provides integrated services from a holistic approach. * Teaches clients to identify warning signs and symptoms and equips them to manages these symptoms * Communicates with other team members to identify issues and agrees on a consistent treatment approach * Coordinates smooth transfers between programs to ensure seamless service provision * Teaches, guides, and collaborates with other team members on clinical interventions and crises. * Demonstrates flexibility, willingness, and competence to meet the needs of the department * Collaborates for the provision of services with all other treatment/service providers external to the agency. * Other job duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, counseling or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: At least two (2) years experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LPC or LCSW with one year verifiable experience working with clients with substance use disorders, or a provisionally licensed staff with one year verifiable experience working with substance use disorders.
