    Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Family Partner!

    The Family Partner provides parents/caregivers (inclusive of mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc.) strength-based, peer-to-peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support within a variety of settings.

    The Family Partner is a specialized expert who has lived experience providing caregiving to a youth with mental health challenges. This position works in close partnership with the Clinician, Clinical, Therapeutic Support Specialist, Peer Mentor, and involved service team to provide education, coaching/training and support to parents/caregivers of youth receiving flexible support services funded by DMH.

    In addition, the Family Partner provides a range of activities and support forums to allow parents/caregivers to advance and practice parenting, problem solving, leadership, networking, and advocacy skills. Support is provide in three distinct levels based on parent/caregiver needs to include modeling (“Do For”), providing assistance to support the parent/caregiver practicing a skill (“Do With”), and encouraging a parent/caregiver who’s engaging in skills independently (“Cheer On”).

    Hours: Part Time 20 hours/week; flexible hours between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. to meet the needs of the families.

    Rate : $21.63/hour

    Required Skills

    • Must be able to establish a rapport and work effectively with a diverse, multi-cultural group of parents, children, family members and other program staff members

    • Good verbal and written communication skills required

    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team required

    • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required

    Required Experience

    • Associates degree in human services field and one year of experience working with the target population or High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with target population required
    • Must have experience in navigating any of the child and family-serving systems
    • Must have lived experience as a parent/caregiver of a youth with significant social, emotional, behavioral health, medical or trauma-related needs
