  • Responsibilities

    Position is contingent upon contract award.

    As the HVAC Technician , you will install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Perform scheduled periodic maintenance and seasonal overhaul on systems and components to ensure maximum efficiency.
    • Performs planning activities, and facility surveys.
    • Manages HVAC/R fuel emissions and refrigerant handling programs and activities to support various ACCOM II systems.

    **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: **

    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Formal HVAC/R training such as: military technical training school, vocational college, and/or a four (4) year apprentice program with experience in HVAC/R maintenance and repair.
    • Four (4) years of practical experience with equipment the technician will maintain.

    **LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS: **

    • Must have applicable CFC/EPA certification such as Section 608 Certification (Universal).

    **KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: **

    • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to trade.
    • Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings is required.
    • Must have knowledge of operation / installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems / equipment.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
    • Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
    • Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD SEVENTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
    • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
    • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
    • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

    • Experience in early intervention, special needs populations, or early childhood preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    • Knowledge of basic computer systems
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation or ability to access public transportation
    • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds
    • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, sit, reach, crawl, and maneuver with infants and toddlers exercising constant changes of position and movement
