    Auris Health is recruiting a Robotics & Controls Intern, located in Redwood City, California!

    Auris Health received FDA clearance for the Monarch robotic platform in 2018. The platform has since been deployed in numerous US hospitals and has been used with thousands of patients to diagnose and treat lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer deaths in the world. The team is continuing to scale and improve the capability for bronchoscopy, while also working on expanding the endoscopic platform to other procedures that will directly benefit the quality of life of patients.

    You will join the Controls & Robotics team working on the Monarch Platform. Our areas of expertise range from classic rigid robotics to customized control algorithms for our in-house medical instruments. Our work spans from early research to design verification and commercial implementation.

    As an integral member of the team, you will work alongside highly skilled and hardworking engineers to characterize, test, and develop complex robotic subsystems and control algorithms.

    We are looking for candidates with strong hardware and software skills that are deeply motivated to impact the lives of patients through advanced robotic technologies!

    CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work alongside robotics engineers to test and develop robotic subsystems
    • Characterize robotic performance, medical instrument performance, etc
    • Perform modeling and control development for custom robotic HW
    • Develop novel analysis tools and accompanying UI
    • Test and validate the implementation on HW
    • Participate in design discussions and reviews

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master or PhD student in controls, mechatronics, robotics or equivalent
    • Hands-on experience with robotic hardware
    • Experience in Python, Matlab and C++ programming
    • Self-motivated with excellent communication and documentation skills
