JOB DESCRIPTION
Janssen, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a 6-month COOP in the Mechanistic & Investigative Toxicology Group within the Department of Preclinical Development & Safety with a start date of Winter or Spring 2019. Janssen is the name given to Johnson & Johnson’s global group of pharmaceutical companies. These companies market both conventional and biotech products in a broad range of therapeutic areas.
The Internship Program is focused on providing college students with practical scientific in an industry setting. The primary remit of the Mechanistic & Investigative Toxicology is to use molecular, cellular, biochemical, and in vivo approaches to resolve toxicology issues encountered during drug discovery or development.
The primary responsibility for the intern or COOP will be to complete a focused independent project under the supervision of a senior scientist in a novel scientific area of interest that will allow the intern to develop and build on their critical thinking and laboratory skills while enhancing the capability of the Mechanistic & Investigative Toxicology Group. Studies may require interaction/collaboration with other research teams, which will expose the intern to cross-functional groups and additional learning opportunities. Other responsibilities will include efficient organization and analysis of data, writing of reports, and oral communication of data.
