    Employee & Labor Relations Intern Location: St. Barnabas Hospital Department: Human Resources Hours: Intern Qualifications The Employee & Labor Relations intern will provide support to the Employee and Labor Relations Generalist and the Assistant Director of Labor Relations. This role will assist with the day to day employee and labor relations functions, the exit process, policy development, and other special projects. This intern will also have the opportunity to work in other HR departments as needed. Primary responsibilities will include: * Developing and revising employment policies * Researching and drafting memorandas on labor and employment issues * Coordination of meetings (i.e. Employee Investigations, Grievances/ Settlements) * Communicating guidance on employee relations issues to business and HR leaders throughout the organization * Participating in Joint Commission/Compliance and Immigration projects * Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: * 3rd year students actively working toward their Bachelor Degree required. Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, PreLaw, Psychology, or Health Care Administration preferred. * Law students who have completed their first year of JD program preferred. * Authorization to work in the United States of America * Interest in Labor and Employment Law and/or Human Resources * Taken or planning to take a labor law or employment law class * Strong, research, written, and oral communication skills * Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment * Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information Please submit an updated resume with a cover letter to (email address): Email: hr@stbarnabashospital.org Phone: (718) 960-6500 EEO Statement SBH Health System is an equal opportunity employer.
