Assists with direct patient care and in developing and modifying exercise programs to meet the specific educational and physiological needs of patients entered into various rehabilitation programs such as cardiac and/or pulmonary, and work injury or occupational medicine programs. Participates in educational activities and collaborative interdisciplinary problem solving and team goal-setting sessions. Performs fitness evaluations and participates in community-based and employee-based wellness programs. Minimum Qualifications Include: Bachelors degree required, preferably in athletic training, health, physical education or exercise science. One year related work experience preferred. Must possess sound knowledge base of normal and pathological cardiopulmonary physiology and exercise metabolism in relation to exercise performance so as to recognize when the response is abnormal. Requires BLS & ACLS. Successful applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment drug testing for unauthorized substances. Marijuana and medical marijuana are considered unauthorized substances. This position is not benefits eligible. Per Diem employees are required to work at least 400 hours per year, however, Salem Health cannot assure a set schedule or hours per week.
