    Janssen Research & Development, LLC, a Johnson & Johnson Company, is recruiting for a US Medical Affairs Summer Intern, located in Horsham, PA. The intern will join us in the Scientific Communications Oncology group, where we are passionate about the communication of Janssen oncology data through publications, video, infographics, and other innovative methods. The internship is in the Medical Affairs division of Janssen Scientific Affairs. The Internship Program is focused on providing college students with practical, industry-specific scientific and analytical experience.

    THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREA:

    Scientific Communications, Oncology (Hematology, Multiple Myeloma): Develop an innovative scientific communication or participate in a research project to support a Janssen oncology initiative. It is an opportunity to learn more about oncology and the Scientific Communications role, gain exposure to different functions within Medical Affairs, and to contribute toward the goal of improving patient outcomes.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Engage with Janssen colleagues in different therapeutic areas to learn more about oncology, and gain exposure to various roles and responsibilities within Scientific Communications and Medical Affairs.

    • Work independently and collaboratively with Scientific Communications professionals to develop innovative scientific communications and/or perform research to support Janssen initiatives.

    • Assist with activities and projects related to Scientific Communication initiatives, including slide deck creation, congress planning and publication etc.

    • Present major results to colleagues at end-of-summer seminar

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited College/University, pursuing a BA/BS, MBA/Masters or PHD program.

    • Must not be a First-year student or a Senior graduating prior to program end date of Fall 2023 (Seniors must be willing/allowed to extend graduation date)

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    REQUIRED:

    • Able to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment. Students on OPT/CPT are eligible for consideration.

    • Available to work full-time (40 hrs/wk) with reliable transportation to and from work.

    • Minimum grade point average of 2.8 is required.

    PREFERRED:

    • Highly motivated with intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, detail-oriented, analytical, organized and able to manage multiple tasks

    • Ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (including a high proficiency with generating tables and graphs), and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills. Additional technical competencies in SharePoint and other information technology systems are highly desirable, as is experience with PubMed databases and other literature databases.

    • ACADEMIC AND/OR INDUSTRIAL CLINICAL TRIAL EXPERIENCE ARE PREFERRED

    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.

    • PARTICIPATION IN CAMPUS/COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES IS DESIRED
