    We are searching for the best talent for Scientist I to be in Jacksonville, Florida.

    The Scientist 1 supports the processes involved in releasing raw materials to manufacturing. Performs sampling and testing on standard raw materials and primary packaging ensuring conformance to company requirements. Performs routine analysis (primarily visual and manual) for special test requests to provide continuous improvement in the areas of quality, technology and processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs routine testing, product release, complaint investigations and non-conformance investigations (50%)

    • Documents and prepares labeling related to results of sampling and testing of raw materials. Prepares documentation i.e., MARS, labels, log books, and maintains control numbers (15%)

    • Generates results and produces reports to present to clients using systems such as LabWare LIMS and Empower. (10%)

    • Troubleshoot/calibration/maintenance supporting procedures of instrumentation. (10%)

    • Identifies issues in the laboratory and seeks appropriate action. (5%)

    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. (5%)

    • Maintains clean work area. Supports lab in housekeeping, environmental, and safety initiatives. (5%)

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • 1-3 years Chemistry or related field and/or work experience in a laboratory with a BS in chemistry or other related science discipline.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    • 1-3 years chemistry laboratory experience with both wet chemistry analysis and instrumental analysis of raw materials.

    • Ability to distinguish color variation required

    • Proven technical skills and hands on instrumentation skills.

    • Understanding of GLP and GMP is required.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with Labware LIMS and Empower laboratory systems.

    • Experience with gas and liquid chromatography (GC & HPLC)

    • Technical writing skills.

    • Ability to prepare protocols for investigations.

    • Knowledge of advanced technical concepts.

    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Understanding of operation, troubleshooting, calibration, and minor maintenance of equipment.

    • Thorough knowledge of FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements.

    • General knowledge of more complex activities within the lab, with the ability to train others in specific areas.
