We are searching for the best talent for Scientist, Spectroscopy to be in Raritan, NJ.

You will become part of the Analytical Characterization team in partnership with the company's Research and Development organization. You are expected to cultivate strong team collaboration with other analytical associates in techniques such as NMR, Mass-Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography, Wet Chemistry and Gel Permeation Chromatography.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform FTIR and Raman spectroscopy on raw materials, components, and finished goods.
• Prepare samples and develop or follow existing analytical methods
• Identify unknown impurities in complex polymer matrices, degradation products of polymer systems, small molecule-polymer interaction products
• Interpret spectra, identify materials, and support root cause investigations or failure analyses. • Assist in maintaining laboratory instruments.
• Assist senior staff in the preparation of technical reports and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with inter-disciplinary colleagues such as toxicologists, engineers, polymer chemists, etc.
• Perform other duties assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• MS or PhD in Chemistry (Analytical, Physical, Polymer or Organic preferred).
• 2+ years of experience with a MS degree, 0+ years of experience with a PhD degree.
• Required Skills & Experience:
• In depth- Knowledge and hands-on experience of FTIR, NIR, and Raman Spectroscopy principles and have proven hands-on problem-solving experience with chemical systems
• Experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Display passion for science and innovation
• Love to solve problems with analytical technologies and chemistry knowledge
• Like to work in a team environment that embraces change and continuous technical improvement
• Have good interpersonal relationship and people skills
• Have excellent oral & written communication skills
• Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Familiarity with FTIR and other spectroscopic techniques
• Experience with synthetic polymer and small molecule characterization

• This position is located in Raritan, NJ and requires up to 10% travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

$74,000-$119,000

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
