Log back in! * Transition Age Peer Intern Job Locations US-CA-Fairfield Posted Date 1 day ago(11/19/2018 2:40 PM) Job ID 2018-2041 # of Openings 2 Category Direct Care Overview The TAY (Transition Age Youth) Peer Intern will provide peer support and advocacy to youth and young adults ages 16-25 in the Solano County TAY Services Program. The Program aims to address mental health symptoms that are impacting youthrsquo;s ability to successfully transition into adulthood. Peer support may include one on one peer support as well as in group settings including facilitating TAY groups. The intern will also be involved in community awareness and leadership activities. The TAY Peer Intern will receive one hour weekly of mentorship. Responsibilities * Provide group peer support to youth ages 16-25 years old in the TAY Services Program * Facilitate the Solano Youth Advisory Board on an ongoing basis including coordination and outreach to youth * Attend and participate in mental health awareness activities in the community and peer forums which may include public speaking engagements * Coordinate with other youth providers in the community such as First Place for Youth * Complete all training requirements as indicated by Program Supervisor * Complete any documentation as indicated by Program Supervisor * Participate in weekly supervision/mentorship with the Program Supervisor or designee * Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing Senecarsquo;s mission and philosophy Qualifications * Personal experience receiving services (STRTP, Wraparound services, Educational Systems, Juvenile Justice Systems, Child Welfare System, etc.) * Must be at least 18 yrs. old and have a valid California driver's license * Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements. * Ability to work as a team player. * Strong communication skills Schedule Internship January 2019- July 2019 * Part-time * Flexible schedule, 20 hours a week Benefits * $16 per hour * Comprehensive employee benefits package, including medical, dental, vision and chiropractic coverage and partially paid premiums for dependents * Pro rated paid time off * Employer paid Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). * Scholarship opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities Employment opportunities are, and shall be open to all qualified applicants solely on the basis of their experience, aptitudes and abilities.
