Job Duties:
Collaborate with Product Development peers, Clinical Specialists, Field Service Engineers, and Manufacturing personnel to facilitate a deep understanding of device functionality and failures, and to perform in-depth root cause analysis.
Acquire, analyze, and interpret information from data logs and various applications as well as perform physical investigation of devices to figure out failure modes.
Utilize data log applications, software and system test programs, optical digital microscopes, probes, X-ray systems, custom electrical test software, and other test equipment and fixtures in support to perform investigations.
Write formal analysis reports, resulting in clear and accurate messaging about analysis findings for a broad audience.
Provide frequent verbal and written updates of work-in-progress for various meetings.
Help drive product and process improvements.
Failure Analysis Devices: Conduct failure analysis to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to complex electromechanical robotic medical devices, such as the Monarch system, and flexible electromagnetic devices, including sheaths and scopes. Utilize diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify faults and ensure optimal performance.
Product and Process Improvement Duties: Identify process gaps, develop test methods, and design experiments to improve investigation processes for devices. Determine failure modes, root causes for failures, and handle and report customer complaints. Compile failure data and provide to the R&D team to enhance product reliability and uphold patient safety standards.
Product and Process Development – Specific Tasks In process development: Design and implement new fixtures and investigation methods, focusing on failure mode identification procedures to establish the root causes of failures and recognize product defects. Deliver critical failure mode data and detailed investigation reports to R&D, aiding in the development of new features and the integration of innovative technologies aimed at improving patient safety, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Areas/Fields/Industries the Employee Will Work In: Work in areas including post-market surveillance, quality and compliance, quality assurance, and R&D with a focus in fields of failure analysis engineering, quality engineering, and mechanical engineering within industries related to manufacturing, technology, and product development.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer-related occupation.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$140,000 - $166,000 annually
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
