    The Johnson & Johnson Benefit Investment Team manages more than $55 billion of global assets across defined benefit and defined contribution plans. The team invests in a wide range of strategies across public equity, fixed income, and private market strategies. We are seeking a Senior Investment Analyst (“SIA”) to join the investment team who will support and partner on various tasks such as risk analytics, investment manager due diligence, approval processes, manager onboarding and monitoring, quarterly reporting, portfolio construction, strategic asset allocation, and asset rebalancing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    This role is best suited for a highly motivated professional who is intellectually curious with strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills. The SIA must have basic knowledge of financial modeling, portfolio theory, and capital markets with a general curiosity and passion for investments. The SIA will gain broad-based exposure to several asset classes beginning with public equity and fixed income, with an opportunity to eventually broaden into private markets. The SIA will perform a variety of functions to support the team across all investment activities including:

    • Collaborating with Public Markets team members in evaluating both prospective and existing investments across the spectrum of public equities (US Large Cap, Small Cap, International, Global) and within fixed income (Core Bond, High Yield, Long Duration, and European mandates).
    • Monitoring and assessing existing portfolio investments via performance measurement and reporting, risk exposures, manager communications and news flow across asset classes.
    • Providing support to the team on daily, monthly, and quarterly activities including, but not limited to, plan asset rebalancing, liability hedging and funded status updates.
    • Assisting in new manager diligence by participating in calls and meetings, researching opportunity sets, assessing overall performance, performing comparative analysis, performance attribution analysis, risk and exposure analysis, and liquidity analysis.
    • Cultivating relationships with internal cross-functional teams and external partners.
    • Partnering with team members to prepare for committee meetings and presentations globally, as well as on ad hoc projects.

    The team does not make use of a retained investment consultant. Therefore, the role will have significant responsibility and portfolio impact.

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in a related field.
    • A minimum 4 years’ investment experience is required.
    • Candidates for CFA, CAIA, or other similar certifications are preferred.
    • Successful candidates should have strong intellectual curiosity with the ability to pursue learning and developmental opportunities with the potential to grow into a Portfolio Manager role within five years.
    • Good understanding and knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies; intellectual interest in pension investments is required.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required, robust quantitative skills and modeling skills are preferred. Ability to independently learn the team's analytics software platforms.
    • Strong presentation, business framing, critical thinking and interpersonal skills are required. Must possess strong collaboration and influencing skills with both internal and external partners.
    • Candidate must be self-motivated with ability to multi-task and ability to effectively balance multiple priorities, required.
    • This position may occasionally require overnight travel, including international travel.
    • This position is based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. According to current company guidelines, employees are expected to be in the office at least 3 days a week.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is $ 91,000-$147,200

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
