    Purpose: The Senior Manager, Laboratory Services will be responsible for oversight and flawless execution of the enterprise J&J Laboratory Services program for participating North America sites. The Laboratory Services program delivers strategic and operational value for stakeholders via central oversight of lab equipment maintenance (ELIS program), lab support contractor services, and point-of-use consumables management.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Act as strategic and regional lead for all participating North America Lab Services sites
    • Implementation of comprehensive strategies for laboratory equipment maintenance, supplies procurement, and lab support services to optimize operational efficiency across North American sites.
    • Act as a key point of contact for business and strategic partners for participating North America sites’ laboratory needs and support.
    • Oversee multiple vendor relationships that are responsible for delivering the Lab Services program at relevant North America sites
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align laboratory services with corporate goals and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure laboratory services are aligned with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality systems, including appropriate trainings.
    • Follow up on performance of Lab Services program at North American sites, collaborate with local and site-based vendor leads and teams to define and implement improvement plans when required
    • Responsible for all relevant administrative responsibilities and documentation of Lab Services contractors on all North American sites.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • BS degree in biological or chemical science
    • At least 5 years’ experience in laboratory sciences and/or laboratory operations within pharma/biotech R&D
    • 5+ years of lab bench and/or lab operations experience in pharma/biotech laboratories
    • 3+ years of people management and development experience
    • Demonstrated experience with overseeing external vendor and strategic partner relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to establish strong internal stakeholder relationships, lead through influence, and approach the role with a customer service mindset
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead the execution of strategy, business transformation, and improvement initiatives; experience with change management
    • Ability to translate data and context into strategies and executable plans
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Technology and R&D process assessment for efficiency
    • Program, project, and financial management skills
    • Working knowledge of GxP environments, quality & compliance domain, and industry regulations (FDA, ISO OSHA)
