Per Diem RN II - Hospital Summary The Per Diem RN II is responsible for coordinating care within a multi- disciplinary team to prepare patients for surgery and/or procedures. The Per Diem RN II will perform health history screenings, documentation and completion of pre-operative testing as part of the surgical admissions process. The Per Diem RN II is an integral part of the team with the opportunity to practice evidence-based care and utilize the nursing care process in a collaborative environment. This position independently performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic, efficient care of patients with overt and subtle needs throughout the continuum of care, according to units standard of care. The Womens Surgery with its 9 Surgery Suites, at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns (SMBWN) provides a full range of medical and surgical services for women of all ages. SMBWN affiliated physicians perform both advanced hysteroscopy and laparoscopy as minimally invasive procedures in an environment specifically tailored to the care and comfort of women. More minimally invasive gynecologic procedures have been performed at SMBWN than any other hospital in San Diego, including more than 700 robotic-assisted surgeries. Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns is a nationally recognized, full-service Women's Hospital with approximately 8,500 deliveries per year and is part of the Sharp HealthCare system. In 2013 the hospital earned Prominent Designation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
