Clinical Nurse - RN, Perinatal Scu, MBHW Summary The Clinical Nurse RN is an integral part of the team with the opportunity to practice evidence-based care and utilize the nursing care process in a collaborative environment. This position independently performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic, efficient care of patients with overt and subtle needs throughout the continuum of care, according to units standard of care. We are looking for qualified nurses to share our vision of holistic patient care that continually moves toward excellence in all patient and staff outcomes. The Perinatal Special Care Unit (PSCU) at Sharp Mary Birch is designated for San Diego women who have premature labor, or whose pregnancies have been complicated by conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure. In addition, patients are admitted for observation due to a motor vehicle accident, polynephritis, uncontrolled post-partum hypertension and/or fertility treatment complications. The length of stay ranges from a few days to several months. A highly-skilled team including nurses and perinatologists, care for the high-risk antepartum patient on this specially designed 36-bed unit. There are education and therapeutic activities for patient such as Arts for Healing, Pet Therapy, High Tea Time, and A-Z Education. This unit is a first of its kind in San Diego and women who are admitted to this unit receives focused care no matter the duration of their stay. Location This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County Hours 12-hour shift, 7pm-7:30am Required Skills and Qualifications * Associates of Science Degree in Nursing * Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse Licensure * Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association * Current NRP certification * Current two (2) years of experience in labor and delivery and/or high risk antepartum Preferred Skills and Qualifications * Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing * Fetal Monitoring Course completed within the last 2 years Physical requirements of position may be discussed during interview.
