Our 54-acre campus at SMMC is comprised of the main hospital, a community health education building, six physician office buildings and an associate child care center. The Emergency Department at SMMC is the busiest in Johnson County. We deliver more babies each year at the Shawnee Mission Birth Center than any other hospital in the metropolitan area and our Center for Womens Health is nationally recognized. We have seven Shawnee Mission Primary Care locations with more than 30 Board-certified doctors who specialize in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics as well as Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care locations. Qualifications You will be responsible for: * Is knowledgeable of and respectful of various faith traditions and able to support individuals in their chosen faith tradition. * Provide spiritual support for all administrative and clinical initiatives in the organization. * Creates an open and safe relationship in providing support of associate or departmental needs * Demonstrates and conveys a favorable image of the Medical Center. * No indications of breach of patient/associate, departmental or organizational confidentiality * Demonstrates high personal and professional ethical standards. * Exemplifies Christian character deportment and conduct * Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action. * Supports SMMC corporate initiatives and helps to clarify and positively re-frame for associates particularly during times of stress and change * Works with earnest in accomplishing departmental goals and initiatives * Is engaged in making suggestions for improvement resulting from observation, measurement and best practice research * Identifies and engages in at least two (2) mission integration initiatives within SMMC, for example: Grief recovery, Marriage family, Spiritual Ambassadors, Creation Health, Mission Service * Performs/facilitates ecclesiastical functions and spiritual practices as requested by patients, families and associates. * Provide spiritual support to patients, families, associates, physicians and others in a timely and professional manner. * Participates in the development and application of advance directives, palliative care and other ethical decisions. * Provide limited pastoral counseling support to associates, referring to EAP when complicated or extended needs arise. * Provide crisis intervention support for associate experiencing emotional trauma due to adverse outcomes. * Prompt and regular attendance at departmental staff gatherings, chapel services and special events * Engages in continuing education annually and completion of CBLs in a timely manner. * Provides mentoring and leadership to CPE students and interns * Is conversant with current issues in ethics, palliative care, Advance Directive and end of life. * Uses departmental resources effectively * Observes SMMC policies and procedures. What will you need? * Masters Degree * 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience * Ordained/Commissioned/Licensed * Ecclesiastically Endorsed * Member of Professional Organization * Board Certification APC/CPSP * Four Units of CPE * PhD/D.
