    General Summary

     

    The Director, Materials and Logistics Operations & Projects will coordinate and direct the design, implementation, launch and maintenance thereafter of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) features and functions of SRAlab’s new Enterprise Resource Planning System, WorkDay® [ERP] as SCM project lead. Supports and assists the Executive Director, Materials and Logistics Management in the planning, organizing, staffing, as well as the control, of the sourcing, acquisition, distribution and management of goods, services, and equipment. Coordinates with Department Managers in the successful accomplishment of project-related and normal operational goals and objectives.

    Principal Responsibilities

    THE DIRECTOR, MATERIALS AND LOGISTICS OPERATIONS & PROJECTS WILL:

    1. Assist the Executive Director, Materials and Logistics and ERP 3rd-Party implementer-personnel in the design, construction, implementation, and launch of the ERP as it pertains to all supply chain activities: management data, operating modules, processes and workflow, included.
    2. Develop, execute and report on all ERP project short and long-range goals for the Department that complies with SRAlab’s stated ERP project goals and objectives and materials management needs.
    3. Coordinate with Department Managers to plan, amend, develop, implement and train to any updated departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards that support the operation of the supply chain programs under the new ERP environment.
    4. Assist the Executive Director, Materials and Logistics in the coordination with Department Managers in the execution of sourcing operations, vendor management, procurement cycle operations, staff services, patient transport, medical materials/equipment distribution, and inventory management and reporting.
    5. Coordinate with Department Managers to assess and evaluate supply chain solution partners, which involves negotiating contracts with vendors including price, availability, efficient delivery, and installation.
    6. Assist the Executive Director in the development, execution and reporting against department budgets, designed to attain SRAlab financial goals and objectives.
    7. Assists the Executive Director, Materials and Logistics in the consult with end-user departments on materials management matters, evaluating products and services to recommend items.
    8. Prepare cost analyses, inventory reports and related statistical data to keep abreast of operational and financial status of Institute's supplies and equipment.
    9. Perform all other duties that are assigned in the best interest of the SRAlab.

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

     

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field.
    2. Minimum 8 years of extensive knowledge of supply chain operations including vendor sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and materials distribution; with exposure to basic accounting and financial theories.
    3. Minimum 3 years of staff management.
    4. Strong leadership skills to successfully support and/or direct supply chain strategy, human resources, and internal/external relationships.
    5. Strong project management skills and experience in major systems conversion, change management and process improvement techniques.
    6. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and resolve problems, manage change among people and organizations, and drive efforts in Project/Department team members to accomplish project goals, and with end-user department leaders.
    7. Working knowledge of contracts and Group Purchasing Organizations; familiarity with Vizient GPO.
    8. Ability to maintain knowledge of current supply chain best practices, management trends and techniques in order to enhance professional expertise.
    9. Analytical abilities needed to recommend new and updated operating procedures, to propose budgets, to analyze bids and products, to conduct cost/benefit analysis and to control inventory.

     

     

    Working Conditions

     

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
