    General Summary

     

    The Technician, Audio Visual Support will participate in the operation, setup, and support of audiovisual equipment; will perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions of AV equipment. You will be accountable for the overall customer satisfaction of the equipment operations. This position requires professional interface with diverse clientele to ensure high levels of satisfaction.

    Principal Responsibilities

    THE TECHNICIAN, AUDIO VISUAL SUPPORT:

    1. Operates and tests daily functionality of all audio visual (AV) and integrated conference rooms
    2. Performs routine testing and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers and LCD/Plasma Displays
    3. Performs preventative maintenance to resolve problem or identify resolution to appropriate vendor or manufacturer
    4. Troubleshoots AV/V problems last minute as required as well as non-critical situations
    5. Assists with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system (AMX, Crestron) operations
    6. Interacts with Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end user requests
    7. Coordinates with client staff to determine AV basic infrastructure requirements for any new conference room or media design
    8. Setups and breakdowns all onsite meetings
    9. Tests systems to ensure equipment and room functionality
    10. Escalates issues to the next level if unable resolve issues
    11. Performs remote/onsite testing for offsite locations
    12. Ensure all AVS spaces are presentable for use

    Reporting Relationships

    Reports to Help Desk Manager

      

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

    1. 2-5 Years of AV support experience in large organization, healthcare environment a plus
    2. Ability to determine, evaluate, and diagnose advanced video related connection issues and performance problems.
    3. Demonstrated punctuality and time management skills to make time sensitive appointments and meet client deadlines
    4. Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast paced and high pressure environment
    5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
    6. Background in network and video protocols and codecs to include: TCP/IP, H.323, SIP, G.711, G.729 and Cisco videocode cs
    7. Experience with WebEx, Cisco Meeting Place and Zoom a plus
    8. Ability to adapt technologies to meet changing business processes, and environments
    9. Knowledge of enterprise risk processes and best practices
    10. Broad knowledge of AV infrastructure, with strong understanding of the relationship between audio, video,
    11. Telecommunications technology components and software including: MCU, TMS, Cisco codecs, Microphones, AV amplifiers, Scalars, Multiplexers, Splitters, cable standards and other Audio Visual technologies
    12. Ability to train end users on basic functions of AV when required
    13. Possesses and applies both specific, and broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the field of specialization to the completion of assignments

     

    Working Conditions

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
